The Unsanity Blog began in 2010. It wasn’t created with a business plan or a brand strategy. It started with a need, which was a space to breathe, to unravel, to say the things that were too heavy to carry alone. I didn’t have a clear path forward, but I knew I needed to write. I needed to let the noise out in my head.
What started as a personal outlet soon became something more. In 2018, I opened the blog to guest contributors. People shared their truths and stories about anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, and the quiet, invisible battles we all face. The Unsanity Blog grew into a safe space. A digital home for anyone who needed to feel seen.
By 2019, I leaned further into creativity. I began designing graphics with Canva, sharing content more intentionally on Instagram and Twitter, and exploring ways to bring more structure and beauty into this platform. That growth led to freelance Virtual Assistant work where I supported small businesses with admin tasks, social content, and client support. It gave me confidence, experience, and the ability to shape my work around what I truly loved.
Today, I work full time as a Customer Experience Strategist with AAA. My focus is on creating seamless, human-centered experiences that help people feel understood and supported. This work lights me up because it connects everything I value: empathy, communication, and purpose-driven strategy.
Before that, I served as a Social Media Strategist for the Department of Defense, creating messaging for military families and children facing behavioral health and mental health challenges. That role changed how I view language. It showed me the impact that thoughtful, compassionate communication can have on someone’s life. That experience still shapes everything I write and create.
Along the way, I’ve earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Marketing and Project Management, and I’m currently completing my MBA in Business and Marketing. My education has not just added knowledge. It has helped me build a stronger foundation for this life I’m choosing. A life that blends heart and structure, logic and feeling.
Life has shifted in more ways than one recently. I’m no longer married, and while that chapter is just about to end, it gave me the space to grow into this next version of myself. I’ve rebuilt my routines, my dreams, and my peace. I now live a life where I can work from home, create freely, and stay grounded by the little joys.
Those joys include my animal family. I live with four kitties: Moo Moo, Romeow, Gramma, and Chuff, and my best boy greyhound Fergus. They are more than pets. They are part of my daily rhythm and my creative fuel. They bring balance, chaos, comfort, and a sense of peace I didn’t know I needed. You’ll find pieces of them woven into my personal branding because they are so deeply a part of my story.
And now, finally, another chapter is unfolding: I’m writing a book.
It’s called Bound In Silver — a fantasy dark romance novel inspired by my muse, who continues to encourage the boldest, most unapologetic version of my voice. This story is unlike anything I’ve written before. It’s deep and dangerous, a little feral, and rooted in power, longing, and transformation. It’s about magic and desire and the way we sometimes break before we become.
The Unsanity Blog will always remain a place for honesty, for storytelling, for the strange and sacred parts of being human. It holds everything – the grief, the joy, the healing, the creative chaos, the growth that happens quietly behind the scenes.
If you are new here, welcome. If you’ve been part of this space for a while, thank you. Thank you for reading. Thank you for staying. This blog has never been about being perfect. It’s about being real.
Still unsane, and still the same,
Koral Dawn
